TAA Frequently Asked Questions
Who can be a member of the Troopers Alumni Association? Any
person who has marched as a member of the Troopers, or any of its associated
programs (e.g. Winter Guard, Cadet corps, etc). You must be over the
age of 21 to join. Membership in the corps will be verified against official
corps rosters and membership rolls.
What is an Associate Membership? An Associate membership
is designed for those who were/are a part of the Troopers organization
as a staff member or perhaps a long-time volunteer. These members in
the Troopers Alumni Association never performed as a uniformed member
of the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps, but are recognized as a part
of the Troopers family through their various other contributions to the
Troopers name over the years.
How much does it cost? Single annual alumni memberships
cost $25.00 per person. You can also become a lifetime member by paying
a one-time membership fee of $250.00. Associate members pay $15.00 annually
or $150.00 for a lifetime Associate membership.
I just aged out of the corps, how do I join the TAA? All
age-outs are given their first year in the TAA for free. Your membership
card and age-out gift are given to you by TAA representatives at the
annual age-out ceremony each summer. After your first year, you may renew
your annual membership or become a lifetime member of the TAA.
How can I contact other alumni I have lost touch with? Start
by posting a message on the Troopers
Message Center. You can also search the all-time
roster on this web site. Many entries on the roster contain email
addresses for you to contact long lost friends.
Are there Troopers Alumni shirts, hats or jackets available? Yes.
Jackets, shirts and caps are available. Visit the Alumni
Gear page for ordering details and availability. Trooper Rings are
also available for order (these are available to former marching members
only). Download this
packet of information if you are interested in purchasing a Troopers
ring.
What activities does the TAA offer? Alumni get involved
in summer mail drop efforts, camp and tour preparations, BINGO operations,
annual Christmas Carousel House activities, Mall Wrapping Booth and much
more. The TAA is actively involved with corps recruiting efforts in the
Rocky Mountain regions in the fall. The TAA Committee is always looking
for more ways to be active and have fun. Your suggestions are always
welcome.
I don't live in Wyoming, how can I be involved? The
easiest way to be involved from a distance is simply to be in touch.
Communicate via the Message Center or email. Perhaps you can contribute
items for the web site or an article for an upcoming edition of the Long
Blue Line Newsletter. Perhaps you can help by contacting the folks you
marched with and get them involved, too. There is strength in numbers!
What is the TAA Committee? The TAA Committee is
a group of 7 elected representatives of the Alumni body. These 7 people
are charged with the leadership and direction of the TAA. The TAA Committee
is nominated and elected by the paid TAA membership.
I have recently moved, how can I stay in touch? Make
sure you submit the Alumni Update. This on
line survey is used to keep contact information current. Submit this
survey any time you need to update any of your personal contact information. |
