Glenn Schoneberg
(1955 - 2007)
Glenn
was born in Casper, Wyoming on March 12th, 1955, to
John and Betty Schoneberg. When he started junior high at CY
Junior High School in Casper, he began to learn to play the tuba.
He used to take his tuba to school in a wheelbarrow!
He was accepted
into
the
Troopers shortly after that, as a contrabass player. Glenn was a Trooper
from 1968 to 1970, when the Troopers won the Nationals.
For Glenn's 40th birthday, his brother, a sculptor, wanted
to do something for Glenn that marked a significant event in his
life. He sculpted a 24-inch high figure of Glenn at age 15, in his
Trooper
uniform, standing beside his contrabass. Glenn married Sara Hensel in 1976 and had 2 sons, Jeremiah
and Gaetlyn Schoneberg, who survive him. Sara passed away a few
months before Glenn. He is also survived by his brothers, Steve,
of Minot North Dakota, and Andy of Los Angeles, CA, and his sister, Gretchen,
of Glenrock, WY.
