Grace
(Leaders) Jones
1920 - 2004
It

the wife of Troopers founder and former Director, Mr. Jim Jones passed
away on January 26, 2004.

Episcopalian Church, 701 S. Wolcott in Casper at 11:00am. Friends
are invited to to call on the family at the Jones' residence located
at 3535 Carmel Drive in Casper following services. In lieu of flowers
the family has requested donations be sent in Grace's name to the
Hospice Program located at 319 S. Wilson, Casper, 82601 or the Troopers
Drum & Bugle Corps, Casper, WY 82609. Condolence messages may
be sent to the Jones Family in care of the Troopers Administrative
Offices.
From
the corps' inception in the late 50's to 1987, Mrs. Jones was affectionately
known to hundreds of Troopers as their corps "Mom". Trooper
members found themselves under the watchful eye of Mrs. Jones while
at winter rehearsals and touring throughout the summer. She was not
only a chaperone, but could also be found mending and issuing uniforms,
collecting member dues, typing letters, running fundraisers, keeping
the corps books, or any other duties that needed to be done to support
the corps. Mrs. Jones certainly had a hand in helping her husband
build the world-renowned Troopers from the early days of being a
parade unit in Casper through the Championships of the 60's to today's
Troopers.
Mrs. Jones
will be greatly missed by her Troopers and the entire drum corps
community. |
